Despite recent stumbles in the grocery industry, Amazon expanding its offerings and committing to succeeding in the $1 trillion industry.
As of Monday, Amazon announced that over 600 items from Whole Foods Market’s private label brand 365 are now available on Amazon for nationwide shipping. With over 3,500 brand products, including produce, beverages, supplements, grains, sauces, bakery items, and more, Whole Foods plans on introducing more of its private-label products to Amazon’s delivery storefront.
By utilizing the “Subscribe and Save” feature on Amazon’s website, shoppers can set up automatic restocks and save up to 15% on supplements, snacks, paper products, and pantry essentials, the spokesperson stated.
“Our goal is to build a best-in-class grocery shopping experience where Amazon is people’s first choice for selection, value, and convenience. We remain committed to our investment in this space,” an Amazon Fresh spokesperson said in a statement.
The news comes less than one week after Amazon unveiled plans to revamp two "Amazon Fresh" stores and expanded Amazon Fresh delivery to non-Prime members.
The updates promise to bring Amazon Fresh groceries into millions more homes — and entice consumers to upgrade to a Prime membership. Delivery fees for non-Prime members start at $13.95 for orders under $50 and go up to $7.95 for orders over $100. That’s a $4 premium over the fees Prime members pay for delivery.
