Last week, New York's Governor Kathy Hochul and representatives from the Coca-Cola Company, Fairlife marked the groundbreaking on a new production facility, a $650 million investment in the Town of Webster, New York.

The 745,000 square-foot facility, will serve as Fairlife’s flagship Northeast location and is expected to be operational by Q4 of 2025 and will employ approximately 250 full-time workers. The processing plant is projected to take in 5 to 6 million pounds of raw whole milk daily from local dairy farmers and will produce roughly 5.5-million pounds of raw milk per day.

“Consumer demand for Fairlife products is at an all-time high, and a new production facility will allow us to significantly increase capacity and deliver fairlife to even more households across the country,” said Tim Doelman, Chief Executive Officer of Fairlife. “As we continue to grow in the Northeast, Webster’s proximity and access to best-in-class dairy farmers make it an excellent location to support our next phase of growth in the region and beyond.”

In exchange for job creation and economic development as a result of the local project, Fairlife received $63.4 million in tax incentives from the County of Monroe Industrial Development Agency (COMIDA) along with up to $21 million from Empire State Development through the Excelsior Jobs Tax Credit Program.

Fairlife was founded in 2012 and is a manufacturer of dairy products that are made through an ultra-filtration process that removes the lactose and much of the sugar and leaves behind more of the protein and calcium, according to the company. In January 2020, The Coca-Cola Company acquired Fairlife from Select Milk Producers in Artesia, New Mexico.

Fairlife currently has 4 milk processing plants in the U.S.:

  • Goodyear, Arizona

  • Dexter, New Mexico

  • Coopersville, Michigan

  • Fair Oaks, Indiana
