US Ethanol Production Up, While Stock Prices Fall

Last week, US ethanol production rose, while stocks fell.


According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, US production averaged 976,000 barrels/day, a 9,000-barrel increase from the prior week and a 7,000-barrel increase since 2022.


Barrels/Day by Region

  • East Coast - 12,000 gallons/day

  • Midwest - 922,000 gallons/day

  • Gulf Coast - 24,000 gallons/day

  • Rocky Mountain - 14,000 gallons/day

  • West Coast - 4,000 gallons/day


The Renewable Fuels Association says ethanol stocks fell to a 21-week low of 23.363 million gallons. That is 943,000 below the week before and 524,000 below last year.

The USDA's updated corn for ethanol use estimate comes out Friday, May 12.
