The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently announced the release of two new data dashboards, allowing users to access high-level data about the National Institute of Food and Agriculture’s (NIFA) agricultural research funding investments and track the status of their grant applications.
The NIFA Grant Funding Dashboard allows users to search for information on requirements, waivers, and the amount of match funding provided by recipient type and award.
The NIFA Application Status Dashboard enables users to check the status of their application using their assigned Grants.gov tracking number.
“The information we are making readily available in these public dashboards is also critically important to informing policy and supporting decision makers as we work together to drive our equity goals forward,” said Under Secretary for Research, Education and Economics and USDA Chief Scientist Dr. Chavonda Jacobs-Young. “Information is power, and we are excited to share that capability with stakeholders across the agricultural and research sectors.”
USDA stakeholders and partners, members of the media, and the public can now immediately access, download and save data on all NIFA competitive and capacity funds granted since fiscal year 2018.
“The NIFA Grant Funding and Application Status dashboards will increase transparency across the grant application process and provide applicants insight on the status of their application in the grant-making lifecycle,” said NIFA Director Dr. Manjit K. Misra. “Access to information is one of the many ways NIFA works to increase equity, be responsible stewards of taxpayer funds and provide excellent customer service to grant applicants.”
